Robotics manufacturers, integrators & deployers

How do you deploy and insure your robot?

We’re developing tools to help robotics teams understand the requirements, explain how their robots perform and prepare the evidence insurers need.

Start with NOMOS to explore the requirements for your deployment. Talk to us about a Sentinel pilot to record how your robot behaves in practice.

You can try the NOMOS prototype today. Sentinel is in development, and our insurance work is still being tested.

What we’re testing

The products

Know what’s required. Understand how your robot performs.

Our products help you work through three practical questions: what is required, how your robot behaves and what that means for risk. Here is where each product stands today.

01Prototype available

NOMOS

Explore your regulatory requirements.

Tell NOMOS about your robot, what it does, where it works and your role. Explore the UK and EU requirements that may apply and plan your next steps.

  • Structure your deployment profile
  • Explore obligations and evidence needs
  • Identify questions for specialist review

The demo currently uses the name “Roadmap”. Its outputs support review; they do not certify compliance or replace specialist advice.

02In development

Sentinel

Understand how your robot behaves.

We are developing tools to record robot commands and responses together. This will help teams investigate unexpected behaviour and understand what happened around an incident.

  • Connect commands and robot response
  • Review operating and incident context
  • Test evidence needs with pilot partners
Help shape a Sentinel pilot

Development and pilot scoping are underway. Sentinel is not a certified safety system; production deployment and safety intervention are future work.

03Research & validation

Ledger

Help insurers understand the risk.

We are exploring which information about a robot and its day-to-day operation helps insurance partners assess risk.

  • Map operational exposures
  • Explore underwriting evidence needs
  • Validate usefulness with specialists
For insurance partners

Insurance products and automated pricing are not currently available through this website.

Our approach

Start with a specific robot, task and environment.

A robot moving goods in a warehouse raises different questions from one working in a laboratory. We start with what your robot does and where it works, then identify the information you need.

Explore the deployment guide
  1. Define the deployment

Describe the robot, its task, the operating environment and who is responsible for each part of the system.

  2. Gather the information you need

Use NOMOS to explore requirements. Work out which documents, robot data and incident records would help answer your questions.

  3. Review it with the right people

Work with robotics teams and specialists to understand what the evidence tells us, where the gaps are and what to test next.

Lloyd’s Lab · October 2026

Working with insurers to understand robotics.

During the ten-week programme, we are testing which information about a robot and its operation helps insurance specialists assess risk.

We are starting with robots that load and unload pallets in factories, looking first at the financial impact of downtime.

Programme participation is distinct from insurance cover, investment or endorsement of a product.

What we want to learn

  • What blocks a robotics team from deploying?
  • Which signals help explain a failure or interruption?
  • What evidence changes a specialist’s assessment?

About Optimising Technologies

Built from experience in robotics operations.

Founder and CEO Mark Marney brings experience in robotics operations at Google DeepMind and ten years of military service.

We are bringing that practical experience together with regulatory and insurance expertise. Our goal is to help robotics teams understand the requirements, show how their systems perform and answer the questions that hold up deployment.

Talk about working together

Let’s talk

Bringing a robot into a customer site?

Tell us what your robot does, where it works and what is holding up deployment. Together, we can work out whether NOMOS or a Sentinel pilot could help.

Or email info@optech-robotics.com

Pilot scope, access, deliverables and commercial terms are agreed before any work starts.
